in 2006 fortune offered me the infographics director's job. it was a

chance to learn to make magazines, run my own shop and work across

platforms with cnnmoney. for me, fortune was like being part of an

indie band, we were all jamming to the edge of our abilities,

experimenting with fresh ideas. it opened new pathways in my brain.
